ITP Core Beliefs

This list of ITP Core Beliefs is not intended to be all inclusive but is representative of our
basic core beliefs as a group of partnering facilitators and volunteers.

  • Effective interpersonal skills are essential for fruitful and joyful ministry, especially among cross-cultural workers.
  • The Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills Workshop provides valuable help in building knowledge, skills, and attitudes for effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Interactive learning based on adult learning principles is most effective for this purpose.
  • This training is best done by peers.
  • As facilitators, we must be growing in our own interpersonal skills to be effective in this ministry.
  • Biblically-based learning in interpersonal skills works well across cultures, when participants are able to apply the Scriptures as most appropriate in their own cultural context.
  • Voluntary SYIS participation is most conducive to life change. We serve organizations best by equipping their members at the point of immedacy — when they are personally motivated to attend a workshop.
  • We remain responsive to the Holy Spirit as He connects us with needs and opportunities.
  • We are committed to providing workshops of transformational quality for participants. This compels us to listen well to the needs of workshop sponsors and participants, negotiate for the best possible workshop scenarios and engage in meaningful follow-up.
