Sharpening
Your Interpersonal Skills (SYIS)
SYIS
workshops are designed to enhance ministry effectiveness by
providing training in key areas of biblical knowledge, godly
attitudes and the practical skills needed for developing and
maintaining healthy relationships. Training is very
interactive, utilizing the most effective methods of
interactive adult learning. Learning activities include some
lecture, Bible study, small group tasks, whole group
interaction, demonstrations of skills, practicing of skills
and prayerful reflection.
SYIS
workshops are normally four and one-half days in length. In
some cases shorter versions of the workshop can be designed
in accord with the needs and desires of the workshop sponsor
and participants in consultation with International Training
Partners.
SYIS
Facilitators' Training Workshops (FTW)
These
workshops provide the training needed to become a
Facilitator for the SYIS Workshop. They are normally six to
eight days in length, and focus on the learning process and
content of the SYIS workshop. Intense, hands-on experiential
training prepares participants in adult learning principles
as well as providing the tools needed for facilitating SYIS
workshops.
Potential
facilitators are carefully screened and selected. If you are
interested in becoming an SYIS workshop facilitator, prior
participation in an SYIS workshop is required. For more
information about participation in this training, please see
the Training Process page and the
FTW Application page.
Sharpening
Your Leadership Skills
Approximately 80% of leadership involves
relating to people. We can have the best organizational and
administrative knowledge, but if we don’t relate effectively
to people, our service for the Lord will be seriously
hindered. This workshop is designed to help good leaders,
managers and administrators become even better. The focus is
on assessing and meeting your needs as practically as
possible.
This is an interactive workshop. Participants
work and share together in pairs, small groups and in the
whole group. They observe the skills and practice them with
each other. The best methods of interactive adult learning
are utilized so that maximum learning and skill building
take place.
Facilitators are available for personal
consultation during the workshop for those who want to
discuss specific administrative issues.
